Sunflowers are an excellent remedy for dry coughs and for soothing asthma attacks. If you are an asthmatic, eat a handful of seeds each day. They are useful to give to children or adults and, if the asthma is triggered by stress – keep a few on hand for a soothing snack.
If you have asthmatics in the family, or it is flu and cough season, make a bottle of this syrup. I find it only keeps for about a month so make it as required. I also store it in the fridge which prolongs its life a bit more.
